THE STORY

A sly but lovable Beaver with anxiety refuses to leave the hospital, the one place where he truly feels at home. Unfortunately, the head nurse has other ideas! Will his greatest source of support, Akane the trainee nurse, convince him that his future lies beyond the hospital walls, while she herself unknowingly grows from a shy wallflower into a teenager who can finally stand on her own feet?

MEET THE CREW

The setting of the manga is a hospital, a place where there’s supposedly little room for jokes and nonsense. Or so you thought!

Meet the crew of The Kizuna Nurses. The adults are no less immature than the interns. The patients are happy when they’re discharged, not so much because they’ve recovered, but more because they can finally get some peace and quiet.

And Beaver… well, that’s a whole different story.

Beaver

How does a beaver end up in a hospital, you ask? The real question is: how do you get him to leave again? The hospital turns out to be the perfect environment for him. He finds care, comfort, and a sense of safety there. His anxieties barely bother him anymore, and every day he meets new people — including his newest and greatest friend, Akane.

Akane

The psychologist once described Akane as follows: a girl we know as cheerful and caring. A girl who doesn’t simply accept everything people tell her, but wants to discover and draw conclusions for herself. A girl who needs a bit of space to figure out who she is and where she stands in life. The only thing we’d like to add is that she and Beaver are a pair made in heaven.

Kaori

Kaori is the kind of girl you definitely want around. She’s spirited, proactive, and doesn’t let people walk all over her. Just make sure she’s on your side!

the Nurses

Which of these expressions suits the nurses best: like two peas in a pod, thick as thieves, or joined at the hip? Well… honestly, all three! Nobody really knows how many nurses there are, but once you know one, you know them all. But be warned — it works both ways. Gossip spreads faster than the truth in the hospital where the Kizuna Nurses have become legendary.

the Head Nurse

Oh, the head nurse… You have white and you have black. You have sweet and you have salty. You have the nurses… and then you have the head nurse. We wouldn’t dare say much more about her.

the Psychologist

The psychologist has her heart in the right place. She may have her own methods, but she’s someone you can rely on. The moment she senses even the slightest tension in the air, you’ll be invited in for a talk.

If I tell you this:

Kizuna (絆) is the Japanese word for connection, close bonds, or the sense of being tied together by fate. It represents relationships forged through mutual trust, support, and love.

Then this probably won’t surprise you:

In The Kizuna Nurses, wildly different personalities clash, laugh, argue, and grow together inside the chaos of the hospital. From shy interns to stubborn patients and one very unusual beaver, each character slowly becomes part of a bond bigger than themselves.

THERE ARE EVEN MORE...

Besides the main crew, we have a ton of side characters. From the director to the janitor, from the cook to the receptionist — and of course the patients, because without them, we wouldn’t have a hospital.

Bun — the cook

Bun is Kaori’s uncle — and Akane’s too. He’s the cook, but also one of his own biggest customers. He loves buns… and secretly, the psychologist as well. But that’s just between you and me!

The director

Rumor has it that the director answers to a very influential person. Rumor also has it that he tends to twist the truth from time to time… but in whose favor, exactly?

...and patients!

A hospital can’t exist without patients. But in this hospital, the roles sometimes seem reversed. What exactly we mean by that… we’re not entirely sure ourselves.
